It’s not something that’s decided on a federal level.
Unlike popular ride-share apps, paratransit is designed specifically for any person who is unable to use their public transit systems due to their disability or other mobility issues. Ride-share apps may list themselves as accessible transit agencies, but many vehicles used do not have the accessibility features that a complementary paratransit service would have. The transit agency will arrange a spot for you to meet with your driver for your paratransit trip, and the vehicle provided will meet your accessibility standards.
